Commissioning Manager for offshore wind farms

Would you like to help us ensure quality, efficient commissioning and continuous development within wind power in Denmark and abroad?

Join us as soon as possible and become our new Commissioning Manager in our department LV and WTG Electrical. The department is part of Renewables, a large and rapidly growing business unit with 930 employees.

The 16 employees represent the electrical engineering department when we purchase electrical components and construct wind farms. The department is involved in technical follow-up on the wind turbine suppliers and LV installations on substations. In addition, a group of employees in the department take part in the commissioning of onshore and offshore substations.

Additionally, we follow up on projects and among other things prepare tender documents, contracts and detailed designs. We focus on having a result-oriented approach to our work, both in terms of task management and contract negotiations.

You will be joining one of the leading energy companies in Europe with more than 30 years of experience in wind power. We build and operate large onshore and offshore wind farms in Denmark and abroad. We have an ambitious growth strategy for the coming years in North Europe, and in our company, optimum operation and international growth will go hand in hand.

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte. You should expect some travels and long-term expatriate service in either the United Kingdom or Germany. You may also choose to sign a Commuter agreement with us, where you work 14 days abroad and 14 days at home.

Areas of responsibility
You will join our cross-disciplinary commissioning group working with construction and commissioning of onshore and offshore substations with voltage levels from 0.4kV to 400kV.

You will head a commissioning group of MV, HV and LV supervisors where you will act as the natural link between the group and the project manager. Furthermore, your primary tasks include supervision of all activities in connection with construction and commissioning, where you among other things make sure that the time schedules are met. You will also prepare documents concerning lessons learnt and will participate in the daily operation of our substations during commissioning.

Additionally, your duties will be to contribute to finding technical solutions and attending FATs, final testing and commissioning of protection systems as representative for the owner as well as approving FAT and SAT procedures.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

  • arrange status and construction meetings with our lead engineers and suppliers
  • make sure that electrical supplies meet the specifications of the group
  • be the driving force for practical initiatives on site, among other things purchase of tools, materials and the like which secures a functional substation
  • participate actively in the construction of a strong commissioning group across the projects.

Your profile
You will hold a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Engineering or an education as electrician specialised within the field of high-voltage and be interested in working with substations.

It is essential that your required professional skills are based on relevant working experience combined with general knowledge of installation, functionality and instrumentation of low-voltage and high-voltage systems.

In addition, you will be interested in and preferably have experience working with commissioning and troubleshooting on electrical installations.

As we are an international company and cooperate closely with our colleagues abroad, you should have excellent communication skills and be able to speak and write both Danish and English fluently.

You will have a structured approach to your work. You will value the quality of your own work and are not afraid of making demands on your partners.

It is important that you have an extrovert approach and thrive on working in teams as you will solve a major part of your tasks in close cooperation with external business partners and colleagues in cross-disciplinary teams.

You will have personal drive combined with both an analytical and a responsible approach to your work. Additionally, you enjoy sharing your knowledge with your colleagues in the project group as well as the department.

We offer
You will be joining a dynamic, technical department at the forefront of the development in this specific field. We provide high-quality solutions, and you will have the opportunity to spare with experienced colleagues in an informal atmosphere. We focus on how to create the best possible value for our business and we are rather inspired by freedom with responsibility than by rules.

Through your work, you will contribute to the implementation of an ambitious strategy for international growth and continuous development of CO2-free energy solutions. You will have excellent opportunities for further developing your competences when you participate in the implementation of some of the world's largest construction projects within the fields of onshore and offshore wind power.

We offer attractive employment conditions, good educational opportunities and have an active employee policy, which supports your career throughout the various phases of your working life.
