Om Summer job programme: Design the future with COWI Try

COWI's summer job programme was created in 2012 and the programme extends over 6-8 weeks. This year, we invite 40 students from Denmark, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom to spend the summer with us.

The summer job is paid, and the cost is 100% upheld by COWI. The participants spend the majority of their time acquiring hands-on experience within their field from working in our business.

Furthermore, they spend around 60 hours of their time on the COWI Try innovation project. Here, the bright young minds collaborate in teams across borders and disciplines to develop innovative solutions for a set of predefined cases focussing on a COWI project.

Last summer, the COWI Try innovation project was Holmene, in Greater Copenhagen (Hvidovre municipality), which is predicted to become one of the biggest, greenest and most innovative industrial areas in Northern Europe. The COWI Try participants worked among other things with concepts for sustainable construction, climate protection, resource utilization and green energy production.

The event

At the event on 17 February at DTU, the COWI project manager for Holmene will give a presentation about the vision for Holmene and how last year's COWI Try participants worked together to develop solutions for the mega-project. Two of last year's participants will also attend, present their experiences and answer questions.

We will round off the event by serving food and drinks to all participants and make sure all questions from DTU students are answered – incl. how to apply for this summer’s programme.
