The Fluid Mechanics Section at DTU Wind Energy is seeking a postdoc within modelling and design of wind turbines.

DTU Wind Energy is a research institution with a high international level within many fields. The research fields range from researches in wind turbine technology to wind farm technology.

Responsibilities and tasksThe successful candidate will have a leading role in developing advanced methodologies and tools for designing next generation wind turbine rotors.Further work areas include the development of optimization tools towards low noise and cost-efficient wind turbines.

Other content of the position:

  • Supervision of PhD and MSc students
  • Academic assessment work
  • Industrial collaboration

Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent.

Further qualificationsThe applicant should have:

  • Experience in leading research projects
  • Good understanding of wind turbine and wind farm technology
  • Experience in computational fluid dynamics
  • Experience in fluid-structural interaction
  • Fluency in communicating, reading and writing English
  • Ability to work independently and in teams towards research goals

Salary and terms of employment

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.

The workplace is at DTU Lyngby Campus, Denmark.

The period of employment is 3 years from 1 November 2017.
