Postdoc in Mass spectrometry-based proteomic approaches for identifying new sterol target proteins

A postdoc fellowship in mass spectrometry-based proteomics funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation is available at the Department of Chemistry. The project will be under the supervision of Luca Laraia and will start on April 1st or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will join a newly established, young research team, which is a part of the Chemical Biology group.

Project Description
The successful candidate will establish mass spectrometry-based methods for identifying and validating protein targets of sterols and other natural products. This will include pull-downs with small molecule probes and thermal proteome profiling. The project will be carried out in close collaboration with the DTU proteomics core, which is based at the Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (DTU Bioengineering).

Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a PhD in chemical biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or a similar subject with extensive prior experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics. Experience in synthetic organic chemistry would be an advantage but is not essential. The candidate should be highly motivated, able to work independently and should be confident in both written and spoken English. Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.

The position is available for 21 months in the first instance.
