Manager, IT Enterprise Wide Applications & Collaborations Tools Job Description
Zendesk is looking for an experienced IT Applications Manager for our Enterprise Wide Applications team.

The IT Application Manager will oversee our portfolio of enterprise wide applications which include: GSuite, Slack, Lumapps, Atlassian, Box & Dropbox.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Assess employee and/or business process requirements; analyzes structure and flow of work and data that support needs; evaluates possible solutions and implements and/or recommends solutions that support the mission, values and goals of Zendesk.
  • Drives projects related to area of responsibility, and participates on project teams responsible for application software implementation and upgrades; determines project scope and staff resources required to complete projects; prepares project work plans and timelines. Monitors project milestones and reports project progress to management. Works with technical staff, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
  • Creates and maintains policies, procedures, and documentation related to areas of responsibility. May participate in audits and perform testing for disaster recovery processes.
  • Implements system changes and administers access to systems and information utilizing approved information technology security policies, standards and guidelines.
  • Effectively communicates with all levels of the organization to ensure project success and user needs are identified and met.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings and groups to communicate about process analysis of existing procedures and systems, determine cost/benefit and complexities of new processes and projects, prepare for testing, discuss the roll-out of new projects and applications.
  • Prepares project proposals and budgets; performs analysis for new technologies and system enhancements.
  • Participates in recommending budget items; implements and allocates resources following budget approval.
  • Establish and maintain an ongoing assessment and 3 year strategy.
  • Manage and build a team to create an excellent employee experience for the tools and resources in your area of responsibility in accordance with your strategy.

What You Bring To The Role
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years experience working with globally distributed teams
  • Will be managing 4 to 7 other engineers
  • Ability to solve complex problems and drive the implementation of those solutions
  • Extraordinary interpersonal, project management and prioritization skills—both internally and externally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly across various business functions and levels
  • Previous experience managing globally distributed teams
  • Agile experience using tools like Jira for project planning and bug tracking
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment where ambiguity and short turnaround
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
  • Positive, can-do, and motivational attitude with the ability to achieve optimal results in challenging situations.
  • Excellent planning, execution, and follow-up skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Dedication to the delivery of consistent and unparalleled employee experience.
  • Strong ability to effectively manage difficult decisions and conflicting points of view.
